Patriots Super Bowl Heroes Tom Brady, Julian Edelman “Going to Disney World” as Part of Iconic Disney Super Bowl Tradition

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (Feb. 3, 2019) – In the jubilant on-field celebration that followed the New England Patriots’ Super Bowl LIII victory on Sunday, quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Julian Edelman turned to the cameras and shouted with joy what Patriots players have proclaimed so many times in the past:
“We’re going to Disney World!”
Their pronouncement followed standout performances where Brady threw for 262 yards and Edelman hauled in 10 catches for 141 yards to lead the Patriots to their NFL record-tying sixth Super Bowl crown. With less than 10 minutes left in the game, Brady engineered a five-play, 69-yard touchdown drive, highlighted by a 29-yard strike to All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski that set up the game’s sole touchdown by rookie running back Sony Michel; the Patriots later added a field goal to win the Super Bowl, 13-3. Brady and Edelman’s play anchors a remarkable broadcast achievement: a Disney Parks commercial that is being produced and aired in the immediate hours following the game on network and cable TV.
Brady and Edelman’s visit to Walt Disney World Resort continues a Disney Parks tradition that began in 1987 when quarterback Phil Simms celebrated his team’s Super Bowl win at Walt Disney World Resort. Brady and Edelman will participate in a celebration parade Monday at Magic Kingdom Park before thousands of cheering Patriots fans and park guests lining Main Street, U.S.A.
Monday will mark the fifth time Patriots players have participated in a celebratory parade at Disney Parks following one of their world championship victories. No other NFL team has had a player appear more than four times.
